The Digit-al Dozen Does Stamping: Day 1

Day 1 Stamping: Leadlight

Welcome to another Digit-al Dozen week! The theme for March is "Stamping" and you know I'm super excited for this one! Stamping is my jam!! I may even have all the nail art done ahead of time, for once!
I usually don't show the step-by-step or do tutorials, but I kind of did for this one. This mani was actually inspired by a floral design that Procrastinails did back in January - see it here! I loved her use of glitter and coloring, and it happens to qualify for "leadlight" stamping - think of it like a coloring book!

Don't worry -I did use a latex barrier for this! Otherwise I would still be scrubbing glitters! I sponged on a few layers of this Color Club glitter I had to give me a sparkly base to work on. I got this polish as a freebie with a purchase ages ago, and it has no label, though I googled it a few times and came to the suspicion that this is Snow Flake - a glitter version, because there is a flakie one too.

Look at how iridescent they are!! Like...like, fish scales!! I took a small detour here to add a few fishies, even though the original goal was cherry blossoms.

The function of leadlight stamping is that you end up adding color after everything is stamped, and sheer jelly polishes are the key.

My jellies are home-made - clear coat mixed with alcohol ink. But ready made jellies are sold as well.

I re-did the 2 nails and went back to the cherry blossoms and pink jelly.

Stamping plate used is Creative Shop 47 for the koi fish, and 76 for the flowers.

Take a look at the link up to see what everyone else did for day 1! Given my love of stamping, I have a feeling I am going to be stalking all the posts to pick up ideas ;)
